Despite losing Suarez, Liverpool play a very attractive kind of football which can easily break down teams. So they are still a great threat to other teams in CL.

Cos Man City have world class players in each of their position and they are the current holding champions and were playing at home.

Well, beating Tottenham shows nothing, because Tottenham has been total prat against top teams already couple of last seasons and has probably worse record against them than most of relegated teams. On prevoius season Pool beat them 5-0 and 4-0, *ity beat them 6-0 and 5-1, Arsenal won 1-0 and 2-0, Chelsea played 4-0 and 1-1. ManU was not top class team last season. So only 1 point against Big Four, even Cardiff got 3 and Norwich 2 points. Even Moyes-guided ManU got 5 points against top 4. Only Fulham, who lost most matches, was weaker. And even these bottom teams fought harder against top teams.
Maybe only conclusion might be that today's Pool is weaker than previous season :D
And Liverpool-Basel are good old friends since 2002 :D
