That's a blast from the past.

Jimmy Hill had a lot of criticism but he took it all on the chin.

Good job with Latvia, I've watched the match and worried about their striker...

I was hoping someone else would have brought this up, and organised the parade, but I guess it's down to me to draw everyone's attention to the unbeaten title-winning Canvey Pixels U21 team (that is being broken up in this transfer window).

It appears the museum doesn't even recognise this achievement :(

Could have been a bit more notice about retirement age! Going to have to sell my 2 keepers to the bank to make a few quid

We've broken the news to the Nicaraguan midget Noah Furis, but he's completely deaf and still turned up for training this week. The plumbers are in already removing the safety bars in the showers and his custom commode.

@Alex Seymour - a genuine lol from me there. Well played, sir.

This is a great change even though I bought a player this morning for nearly a £100m that will probably now retire just as he gets good! This should shake things up a bit and mean people have to start developing GKs again in a meaningful way.

A welcome change. Once the geriatrics are cleared out i expect the goals will start flying in. Some off those old keepers have kept scorelines down so i  expect some goalscoring records to be broken in the coming seasons!

Excellent news. I wrote to Sjoerd a few weeks ago about this problem, I didn't think he would accept the request. He waited for me to buy a 44 year old goalkeeper as Burgandine's reserve  :D:D

We have been trying to get this fixed for a long time. There was some chat about it a year ago but the development did not happen. I'm delighted they have found the time to think about this and follow it through.

I'm not expecting this to be the start of a new phase of development of the game, but we can hope this will usher in a new golden age of the game.

I'm also guessing the price of a reasonably decent 30 year old keeper will now go through the roof! I've just bought a 38 year old just before the news and am now selling my 2 ancient keepers just to get a bit of cash!
