sunday january 24 - 14:13 @Monk - a small correction: the first non-top flight side to win the U21 was Seaburn Beach, triumphing in extra time against Colne in the season I won promotion to Division 1. Mind you, I fully expect to be in with a shout of being the first non-top flight side to win the trophy twice, judging by the efforts of the ME to have me relegated this season!
@Antboy - as for who can survive in top flight, it's bloody difficult. Last year's champion Dragontao had a good squad and won the league fairly easily in the end. This year, he's spent millions on some properly good players and he's still down in the playoffs. Admittedly, he's also got a good chance of dragging someone else into the mix (e.g. me!), so it's not been as painful as some other seasons in the top flight. This year has the quality of a lottery to it and it's far from enjoyable.
