Monk >>
friday december 18 - 20:59 Greetings to all from the Scammonden Daoists. The Monks have started badly after some transfer activity but are still hopeful for a good season. Last year's effort of 7th in the league 2 and last 32 in the cup was the best yet and our despotic leader, the Abbot, wants to improve on that. So, last 32 again if the draw is kind and play off contenders. Need to sort my defence out first though. 4 goals in 2 games is not good.
Actually the Abbot has managed to boost our funds with some smart little manoeuvres. Hearing that the Bank is looking to employ players he sent Brothers Landrum and Yasukawa along to work there. Within 3 days they had moved over £11 million into offshore accounts. Of course they have been arrested and jailed for 10 years each for fraud and will be past their best as players when they get out, but police have been unable to locate the money. When asked about the Brothers the Abbot replied that the lost souls would be welcomed back with open arms and offered luxurious accommodation (single rooms as opposed to beds in dormitories) on their return. The Abbot seems to have found around £11 million of cash to spend on the transfer market so far. He doesn't like bankers so he's looking pretty smug at the moment. At least he was until today's display of ineptitude.
