Congrats to both Germany and Argentina.

Shud Higuain have buried tht first half goal scoring opportunity, it might have been a different match!

Germany deserves it simply for their 7-1 thrashing of Brazil on their own turf!

The Messi decision smelled of corporate and sponsor interference. A few more $'s in some FIFA official's back pocket somewhere maybe?

I was also surprised by Messi's lack of emotion at the defeat, like it didn't really bother him. It was epitomoised by his reaction after his dreadful free kick near the end. They are 1-0 down in a World Cup final, he blazes one miles over the bar then grins like he's just made a bit of a howler in a training session.

I don't think Messi's award was bought for, since it was voted for by representatives of media/journalists. It probably went by name.

It's not voted for by media/journalists, it's a FIFA panel. FIFA's technical study group.
