Thinking Forward, but could also use a keeper.  Does one seem a better choice?

I know I need a defender, if I don't find a better one like this on TL, I will probably keep him. My current youth defender's are 16yr above

  • Ah with creative, I will just make him my fourth youth midfielder, he doesn't deserve to sit just at the back.
il Numpty >> sunday march 8 - 22:40

@Don, I agree that Creative is best for attacking players, but with the other specials you could always make him a Versatile wing back. That might make the best use of all 3 specials.

I will wait until summer transfer window to see if I will find a better midfielder then.

Just got this guy today.  Excited about concentrated to make him a future GK, but hot-tempered is concerning.  Can hot-tempered be minimized by  training correct?  If not, will do forward, but already have 2 good young forwards.

He looks nice Mike. I agree with making him a keeper.

It's a really good question about the Hot-tempered. I also think it's worth comparing this with Dirty.

  • Hot-tempered - Is more likely to get a card when his team is behind.
  • Dirty - Players dueling with this player have a higher chance to get cards. Player also gets more cards himself.
  • Correct -  Player commits fewer fouls and gets fewer yellow or red cards.

Without any evidence, apart from the description, it seems to me that Correct would indeed help to minimise the risk of conceding penalties. One gives more fouls (if losing) and the other gives fewer fouls.

In addition it's my experience from watching matches that keepers rarely attempt any tackles. Most pens are conceded by the defenders missing tackles, not the keeper. So although I would prefer Correct on a keeper it's not always essential.

So my opinion - for what it's worth - is to have him as a keeper but use your suggestion and train him Correct.

In my opinion, Hot-tempered isn't such a big deal. See for instance the lad above, who hasn't conceded a single yellow or red card playing for my team in either CB or DCB. Now, he doesn't play in the same position as yours would and there are of course all kinds of factors envolved here, but even though "correct" doesn't take the trait away, either it has diminished the problem, or it was never such a big problem in the first place...

Edit: clarification
