So far ive though of :

teaching my gerbil the concept of time

condensating water and time droplets to a bucket so that it falls over at the right time

hiring my neighbour to mow the lawn at 18:21 every few days

I suggest you trade your gerbil for a dolphin. It's much smarter so it will be easier to train.

Harder to maintain though , gerbils are fairly low maintanance

I did however send out a carrier pidgeon to the town church to petition ringing church bells at 18:21 instead of 18:00

In England we have things called alarm clocks. They generally do the job, an Internet search should find one.

Alternatively you could do what I do and leave your window open. That way the birds' dawn chorus will wake you up nice and early. A cautionary word though, hearing the local cat strangle the life out of said bird is not always the best start to the day. Or perhaps it is, depending on your point of view.
